Left to right. Edmonton City Mayor Stephen Mandel, Superintendent Norm Lipinski, and Edmonton Police Chief Michael Boyd helped police Whyte Ave. early Saturday morning around 2:30AM. After the recent increase in violence on Whyte Ave., Edmonton Police have doubled the amount of officers on the popular bar strip. The Mayor and Police Chief came to Whyte Ave. to check out some of the problem areas. They said that fellow officers working the avenue welcomed the added support. Edmonton Sun / Ryan Jackson
